Our Process
Affordable Kitchens and Bathrooms (AKB) is not your typical construction company. We found there are many “typical” construction companies out there that either do good work but lack customer service or don’t do good work or customer service. We have developed a process that is customer-oriented from the start and that continues throughout your home improvement experience.
From the initial meeting through completion, we are always ready and willing to assist in any way. The first step to a successful project is establishing communication, from the first meeting we ask questions and LISTEN to your desires and requirements.
We then design a custom solution that meets your needs by forming a partnership that allows and encourages open communication. Once we have an approved design we create a detailed estimate of your project. We believe in saying what we will do and doing what we say. AKB has spent a lot of resources to provide estimates of great detail and we pride ourselves in being able to do this. This allows you to see each and every item that will or will not be done on your project, it also allows you to pick and choose options that may or may not meet your budget or other needs. You can rest assured and have confidence in the product. We try to identify every possible cost to give you the best possible scope of your project so there are no extra costs to finish the project. Because we are so detailed and we have in house installation specialists that are cross trained in all trades we are able to give an accurate timeline and significantly reduce the overall job time because we don’t have to wait on other trades to show up. We can immediately and easily move from one task to the other.
After the estimate is accepted and the contracts are signed AKB will help you make your selections for the project. We have in-house designers, a showroom with 5500 square feet, where you can see, touch, and feel your selections. Once the selections have been made we again are not “typical”, we order the products, receive the products and then start your project. We do not believe in starting a project prior to receiving product just to find out the item has been back ordered forcing us to stop work. AKB has worked very hard to create relationships with our vendors that allow us to purchase products at low prices thus enabling us to pass the savings on to the customer.
Once we are ready to start the job you will be introduced to the project manager whom will be your contact point for the construction. Our project managers are very hands on and will complete much of the project work as well as coordinate and schedule materials and timing. They are on site most of every day and they are the key to controlling the quality and timeliness of the project. The project managers and sales staff will continually communicate with you to guarantee satisfaction, no project is considered complete until you are 100% satisfied.
Once the project is completed and signed off by you, the sales agent will do a final walk through to guarantee everything is completed with the utmost quality. AKB is so confident in this process that we ask for referrals from all clients when the project is complete. We believe in building customer relationships that last a lifetime and a referral is the best compliment we can receive.
